Trevor's Top Issues
As the Chairman of the sub-committee on elections, I have worked alongside our election commissioners and County Clerks to help ensure our electoral process is more secure, transparent, and efficient across the state. As Secretary of State, I will continue building those relationships and will help ensure every voter has confidence their vote matters.
SECURITY OF THE CAPITOL GROUNDS:
The Secretary of State is directly responsible for the security of the Capitol Grounds and the 25 acres it sits on. As a US Army Green Beret, I have a unique understanding of potential threats and the methods that should be used to ensure the safety and security of our State Capitol and the many visitors, employees, and elected officials within it.
REDISTRICTING IN 2021:
As a member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, I understand how frustrating it can be for both voters and candidates when the process of redistricting is gerrymandered for political gain. This allows for a loss of faith in our election process. When elected your Secretary of State, I will ensure redistricting is done in an equitable, consistent and uniform manner.
BUSINESS AND COMMERCIAL SERVICES DIVISION (BCS):
As a former small business owner, I understand how the BCS Division serves a wide variety of individuals who choose to do business within our state. As your Secretary of State, I will continue working to simplify the process and procedures that are required to make business ownership a reality across Arkansas.
With the exception of voter outreach and absentee ballots, military outreach is not a traditional program for the Secretary of State’s Office. I will pursue a comprehensive program to ensure veterans have another avenue for obtaining answers to questions about our state’s government and the many programs available to them.
